Into this world series 2021-22

The collage series Into This World (2021–22) by Sam Jedig continues his decades-long engagement with fragmentation, visual overload, and the reassembly of cultural memory. Originally titled Cultural Fragments in the 1980s, these works draw from found images, media residue, and historical materials – dissected and rearranged into visual counterpoints.

Rather than presenting original images, Jedig’s collages function as stop-points in the overwhelming image flow of contemporary culture. They act as reflective intermissions – subtle interruptions that question our habits of seeing and consuming. Deeply rooted in conceptual art and mail art traditions, the Into This World series connects illusion with resistance, repetition with transformation.
