Cover series 2019-21
The Cover series (2019–21) by Sam Jedig consists of collage works executed directly onto old vinyl record covers, turning obsolete mass-produced objects into sites of reflection.
Using rephotographed archives, printed ephemera, and fragments of visual culture, Jedig builds layered compositions that recall both personal memory and collective history. Recurring motifs – including modernist furniture, historical figures and anonymous silhouettes – weave together to question image consumption and identity construction.
The collages function like visual veils: reassembled surfaces where traces of time, illusion and cultural debris converge.
